Guidelines For Students

GUIDELINES FOR STUDENTS

  • Children who have the privilege of joining Seth M R Jaipuria School fraternity, should be aware that as members of this distinguished community, they carry the responsibility of upholding its ideals with dignity and pride. As the school's ambassadors they are expected to be kind, considerate, self-disciplined, physically fit, and upright human beings, always ready to offer encouragement and lend a helping hand to others.
  • The aim of the school is to produce disciplined young citizens who are punctual, gentle, truthful and sincere to themselves, their peers and the country.
  • Kindly note the following instructions:

  • You must carry your Almanac to school every day and use it productively. You will note down the day-to-day home work throughout the year in your Almanac.
  • The warning bell will be rung 10 minutes before the start of school. This is a signal for all to quickly move to the Assembly Hall in a proper manner.
  • You should be habitually clean and come to school neatly dressed in proper uniform (even on birthdays) . If you are not in proper uniform, you will not be allowed to attend your classes and parents will be requested to take you back home.
  • You are expected to attend all academic activity with full attention and dedication. You are not supposed to miss any teaching/games/activity period.
  • Non-Sikh boys should get their hair cut at regular intervals and girls should keep their hair tied in two plaits.
  • Those who come late to school or have been absent on the previous day, must bring a letter from the parents giving reasons for coming late or being absent.
  • Follow the sportsmanship rules viz, stick to the rules, keep your temper cool, keep yourself fit, keep a stout heart in defeat, keep your pride under control in victory, keep a sound soul, a clear mind and a healthy body.
  • A good sportsman is modest on the field. He works for the good of the team rather than for his own interests.
  • A good sportsman is generous on the field. He applauds the good play of his opponents.
  • A good sportsman is courteous on the field. He does not jeer at errors, he does not cheer at the opponents' defeat. He treats them as guests, not enemies.
  • Chewing-gum and other such items are totally prohibited on the School campus.
  • Nails must be trimmed. The nails will be inspected by the Grade mentors/monitors/ prefects.
  • English is the medium of instruction in our school. Therefore, it will be compulsory for you to use English for academic activities as well as for general conversation in the school premises. You must speak softly, clearly and with courtesy.
  • If you try to be a nuisance for your fellows whether inside or outside the school premises, or in his/her locality, then you are likely to face strict disciplinary action which may lead to expulsion from the School.
  • Changing classrooms between periods, where necessary, should be done in silence and in an orderly manner. Running in corridors is strictly prohibited.
  • Bullying (which includes use of foul language, misbehaving, talking rudely, etc) in any form is strictly prohibited and no such act will go unnoticed. You must not be rude or disobedient to mentors, prefects and Adm staff. Use of abusive or offensive language is strictly prohibited.
  • You are not allowed to bring any kind of weapons or sharp objects such as blades, knives, paper-scalpel etc. to school.
  • You are expected to treat the school facilities and infrastructure with pride and respect. You should not, in any way, willfully damage things belonging to others. Damage done, even accidently, should be reported at once to the school authorities so that repairs can be promptly undertaken at your cost and risk.
  • The cost of any willful damage done will be made good by the concerned mentee, who will also be liable to pay a fine for any such offence.
  • No irrelevant or unwanted books/magazine/journals or any other objectionable material should be brought to the school without the grade mentor's permission.
  • Lending or borrowing of money or other articles is not permitted in the school.
  • Mentees are required to enter the classroom and to leave the class room after seeking permission from the grade/subject mentor. In the absence of the grade/subject mentor, the class monitor may allow students to leave the class, but only in an emergency.
  • You must keep your belongings with utmost care. The School will not be responsible for any such losses including stationery articles etc. in the school.
  • You are not allowed to bring/use mobile phones in the school premises. You also must not wear any jewellery or carry any gadgets in the school premises.
  • The school is committed to environmental protection and expects its mentees to be environment friendly in all their actions. The use of polybags is, therefore strictly prohibited in the school. You will avoid using polybags in the school, instead use paper bags.

Girls are not permitted with

  • Makeup, nail varnish, long nails, accessories on wrists, fingers and neck.
  • Danglers or ear-rings (except simple earings of 1/4 cm in diameter)
    Skirts above the knee (length) should be as per school specification. Low waist skirts/trousers.

Boys are not permitted with:

  • Long hair, being without a vest under the shirt, earings, fancy/goatee beards, jelled/coloured/streaked hair.
  • Accessories on wrist, fingers and neck, tattoos.
  • Low waist trousers.
